Black Hills Corporation Headquarters

When Black Hills Corp. began experiencing an influx of customers after a large natural gas acquisition, they knew it was time to upgrade. A headquarters was needed that would allow them to consolidate employees from other states, bringing them to Rapid City, while also creating a facility that would allow for the company’s growth over the next  50 years. Scull Construction was proud to help them see their vision through on this massive project.

This premiere corporate headquarters provides Black Hills Corporation and its 750 employees with 225,000 square feet of new state-of-the-art office space with many amenities.  The exterior is clad in special glazing, metal panels, and pre-cast concrete pillars.  Two main wings extend out from a central atrium, with space to add an optional third wing for future expansion. A unique three-story atrium, with reception and lobby, greets you as you enter the building.  Work space includes personal office space, conference rooms, break-out areas, and open gathering areas.  Other amenities include a full wellness center for employee fitness and well-being, a kitchen, and a child-care center.  This facility includes geothermal heating and cooling systems that will provide year-round comfort for the facility.
