Minuteman Missile Visitor Center
This new facility was built to house the National Parks Service new exhibits for the history of the Minuteman Missile silos. The museums main entry consists of a 25 foot curtain wall glazing with electric blinds to control natural light. The modern yet western rustic look was achieved by stained concrete floors, self-rusting metal panels to make this one of a kind facility a Construction Industry Center award winner. The electrical lighting system was extensive, and is controlled by means of a Lutron Dimming Controller. A geothermal heating and cooling system conditions the building efficiently in the northern climate. Constant coordination between owner and contractor made this project a success.
